About Light Agro Skills
An Organisation Built in Uganda, for Uganda
Light Agro Skills Limited was established in 2018 with a clear mandate: make Ugandan smallholder agriculture more productive, more connected to markets, and more resilient to climate change.
We are not a charity. We are not a typical NGO. We are an agribusiness enterprise and development implementation partner that brings technical expertise, community trust, digital tools, and market connections together in one organisation.
- 5,320 farmers
- 197 farmer groups
- 84 aggregation centres

About Our Company
Services We Offer
Our work spans eleven integrated service areas, all connected to build agricultural systems that work for Ugandan farmers.

Community Mobilisation & Inclusive Programming
Forming and strengthening community structures, with a consistent focus on including women, youth, and marginalised groups as active participants, not…
Livestock & Poultry Production Systems

Agricultural Extension & Advisory
Supporting smallholder farmers with training, agronomic advice, Farmer Field Schools, and Good Agricultural Practice to improve productivity and build resilience.
Market Systems Development
Building the market systems that connect farmers to buyers, processors, and service providers, with transparency, fair prices, and lasting relationships.
Value Chain & Agribusiness Support
End-to-end value chain work across honey, cereals, horticulture, tree planting, and climate-smart agriculture, from production to market-ready quality.
Digital Agriculture

Farmer Capacity Building
Building the skills, governance, and institutional capacity of farmer organisations, cooperatives, and farmer groups to function as effective business entities.
Agribusiness Development & Enterprise Support
Supporting agricultural enterprises, individual farmers, cooperatives, and SMEs, to develop viable business models, access finance, and grow commercially.

Why Work With Us
An Integrated Approach That Delivers Measurable Results
Most agricultural development work tackles one problem in isolation. Train farmers without fixing the market, and you create a supply problem. Connect farmers to buyers without improving quality, and you lose the contract. Build infrastructure without digital systems, and you lose the data.
Field-Rooted Extension Body
Our extension agents are based in the communities they serve. They run Farmer Field Schools, provide agronomic support, and demonstrate climate-smart techniques, in local languages, at the right point in the season.
Evidence-Led MEAL Body
Every programme we implement has embedded monitoring and evaluation. We track what is working, document what is not, and feed learning back into programme design, throughout the cycle, not just at the end.
